Nuralene · A little silk knowledge
A few things to know.
From fabric and size to the first collection’s launch, here are answers to the questions you may have while exploring Nuralene.
What are Nuralene scarves made from?
All five scarves in the debut collection are 100% mulberry silk with hand-rolled hems. Azure Keepsake and Mint Reverie use 18 momme silk twill; Meadow Poem, Evening Bloom and Wild Grace use 19 momme silk satin.
How large is each scarf?
Each scarf measures 108 × 108 cm. This generous size gives you room to explore the folds and styling shown in our photographs. How it sits depends on the way you fold and tie it.
What is the difference between twill and satin?
Twill has a fine diagonal weave, a quiet sheen and a more defined drape. Satin has a smooth, luminous surface and falls into softer, fluid folds. Momme describes the weight of the silk fabric; it does not tell the whole story of its texture. Compare the two weaves in our silk guide.
Can I wear the scarf as a hijab?
Our hijab styling photographs show one way to wear the scarf. The same styling guide also explores shoulders, waist, a top and casual looks. Choose the fold, coverage and fastening that feel comfortable for you, and take care with anything sharp against silk.
Are the photographs of the actual scarves?
Yes. The collection and styling pages use original photographs of the actual Nuralene scarves. Each design has its own gallery. Start with Meadow Poem, Azure Keepsake, Evening Bloom, Wild Grace or Mint Reverie.
How should I clean and store my scarf?
Follow the care label supplied with your piece, store it gently folded and keep it away from sharp jewellery. Read our silk scarf care guide for handling and storage advice.
Can I place an order now?
The website currently previews the first collection. Online checkout is not open yet, and joining the email list does not reserve stock or place an order. Ordering and delivery information will be available when the collection launches.
What happens when I join the launch list?
We send an email asking you to confirm your subscription. Once confirmed, you will receive the launch notification, a 15% launch offer and future Nuralene newsletters. You can unsubscribe at any time. Join the launch list or read our privacy information.
